This is not the first time Microsoft has open-sourced the MS-DOS source code. Ten years ago, Microsoft open-sourced the files for MS-DOS versions 1.25 and 2.0, which were initially shared with the Computer History Museum and uploaded to GitHub four years later. On the tenth anniversary of the MS-DOS source code opening, Microsoft finally released the MS-DOS v4.0 source code, better late than never.
